Recruiting in a 5 year combined BS/MS program?

More specifically it would be a 4.5 year program, but the important part is I would have the extra summer. I'm currently a sophomore at a semi-target in an engineering major, and we have an option to do a 5th year MSE at a tuition-discounted rate (although still ungodly expensive). I won't solely base this decision on recruiting for consulting, but if i do go through with it, how would that work in terms of recruiting? Would I still be eligible for standard post-junior internships next summer or would I have to wait till my post-senior/pre-graduate summer?

Yeah my school had something similar.

First of all, from an MBB perspective, the master's generally makes 0 difference in terms of salary, progression, etc.

I've known people to use the masters as an "extra" chance to recruit. I.e. their Senior Fall, they can choose to either recruit for Full-Time or Internship (probably Internship makes more sense if you're committed to the Master's), and if unsuccessful, they use their master's Fall year to recruit for Full-Time.
