Interned at one of the firms you mentioned are returning full time so happy to add some color.
From what I can tell, hiring from undergrad is fairly limited if it is not from the internship pipeline. The three firms had very different return offer rates, but I'm not sure if that translates to more undergrad FT hiring for shops that had lower return rate offers. I get the sense that a lot of the FT hiring is from T2 shops, B4, or banking.
If you're interested in starting in 2026, you will probably start recruiting some time in August/September the previous year (around this time next year). The interviews for undergrad are heavily behavioral with technical questions that center around accounting fundamentals and restructuring/distressed concepts.
Not sure which firm you interned at but if I were to intern at FTI in another business consulting group would that make a transfer to restructuring consulting easier at that same firm? Same situation with A&M CPI to restructuring
It’s a good question — not entirely sure if it makes the transition “easier” than coming in as a lateral hire from another Rx shop. Anecdotally, none of the people on the team came from another business unit if that helps at all
