RX Consulting Exit Options

Hey!

I hope you guys are doing great. I know consultants end up in various different ways, but wanted to know any sort of personal experience or typical exit options for RX consultants.

Also, Is PE straight from RX advisory something that I can expect or is that something more uncommon?

Thank you for your time!

Exit options for RX consultants can vary, but typically include roles within corporate restructuring, distressed debt investing, turnaround management, or financial advisory. Other common exit options for RX consultants may include roles in distressed M&A or private equity.

Moving from RX consulting to PE can be challenging, but it is not uncommon. Many RX consultants have the analytical and deal-making skills that PE firms look for, and some RX engagements may involve working closely with PE firms. However, it is important to keep in mind that RX consulting is not a direct path to PE, and candidates will typically need to demonstrate additional skills and experience to be considered for a role in PE.

If you are interested in pursuing a career in PE, it may be helpful to gain additional experience in areas such as financial modeling, deal sourcing, and due diligence. It may also be beneficial to network with professionals in the industry and to consider pursuing an MBA or other advanced degree to further enhance your skills and marketability.
