If you are interested in searching for someone on LinkedIn and don't know their name exactly, something you could try is this. You want to find Elon Musk on LinkedIn, but you don't know his full name. In the search bar type in what you do know about him (exactly like this);
"ELON" AND "TESLA" AND "University of Pennsylvania"
This searches LinkedIn for everything in quotations on the users page, the capitalized AND tells LinkedIn you are searching for multiple criteria. It also works with OR and IF.
Narrowing Down LinkedIn Searches (Originally Posted: 11/11/2014)
Anyone have any idea how to narrow down LinkedIn searches for specific degrees? For example, say I am only interested in finding people with an MSF from McCombs, is there anyway to do that without searching through thousands of McCombs undergrad and MBA alumni?
advanced search, type in mccombs for the school and under keywords type in "masters" or "MSF" or something.
