should I disclose the company name

I have been a freelance consultant for some local startups and signed the confidentiality terms. I realize if you work for a MC firm, you are not allowed to disclose your clients' name. But how about my situation as a freelancer? If not, will the experience on my resume look fake? Or how can I describe my freelancing experience on my resume without mentioning the clients' names? Thank you.

If you sign a confidentiality agreement, then you are committing a crime by disclosing the company names. Companies love to hire criminals.

Thanks. So how can I describe this experience?

Can I say something like this: Freelance consultant, biotech startup, MA or Independent project with a local bioprocessing startup, MA

Biotech startup Boston, MA Independent Consultant -Details about project without being too specific -Result of your consulting (give numbers, bankers love numbers)

I don't really see a problem mentioning a name in an interview if you're asked...this isn't legal advice though, so maybe talk to a lawyer real quick? Better $50 for half an hour of his time than losing a job.
