Small Private Consulting firm to T2 and above

Hello,

So I am a recent graduate (BS in Statistics and Machine Learning), and I got into consulting late, and I ended up taking an offer recently at a small private consulting firm, but based on what I studied and my current interests, I want to go into data analytics/science consulting, which my current firm does not offer. One of my reasons for picking up consulting late is that I thought I would end up as a data scientist, but the idea of consulting deeply interests me. So my main motivation for trying to move is to work in something I would enjoy doing at a place that offers that type of work.

So my question is has anyone moved to a different firm within 6 months of employment (such as an Oliver Wyman or any T2 and above)? My idea is to gain as much experience as I can and wait until recruitment season (maybe sneak into my alma mater's campus recruitment) to try and apply, but I want some opinions as to what kind of path is most feasible. I am fine with applying for an MBA if it's worth it too, but my main goal is to be working in data analytics sometime in the future. Anyone have some advice on what I should do?
