Statistics on Next Moves for MBB Pre-MBA and Post-MBA Consultants

Hi there,

I am interested in the following typical statistics on the next moves for MBB pre-MBA and post-MBA consultants respectively after completing 2-3 years in the role. Please share if you know across the MBB or for a specific MBB.

Pre-MBA Consultants (i.e. Business Analyst, Associate Consultant etc. ) - % directly promoted to post-MBA role (i.e. Associate, Consultant etc.) skipping MBA altogether - % externship or rotation but without promotion - % sponsored by firm to pursue MBA - % pursue MBA self-funded/unsponsored - % exited firm and moved to industry opportunities

Post-MBA Consultants (i.e. Associate, Consultant etc.) - % progressed to the next level role (i.e. Engagement Manager, Project Leader, Case Team Leader) - % exited firm and moved to industry opportunities

Many thanks in advance!

"aspiringchimp" Any numbers you get are going to be pure conjecture, because the only people that might know this (partners, HR, executive boards of MBB firms) won't share this with you.

Source: I work at an MBB and I assure you nobody knows these numbers.

Sure, what about stats from your own pre-MBA/post-MBA MBB start class?

Those from large MBB offices such as NY, Boston, Chicago, London etc. might have some representative stats
