Stay Big 4 MC or go Boutique Ops Consulting?

Hi All,

Recently received an offer from a boutique ops consulting firm and hoping to crowdsource opinions on whether or not to accept. Currently have 3+ years in MC at a Big 4. Short term, considering MBA -> Big 4 deals advisory, strategy consulting, or F500 strategy. Long term, hoping to transition into a PE portfolio ops role (hence appeal of projects noted below). My considerations:

Pros: Comp – substantially higher Industry – role would be generalist (currently tied to one industry) Projects – substantial presence in PE ODD space

Cons: Awareness – small firm, small brand Relationships – would have to build all new ones (strong network at current firm)

Travel, location, culture all about equal IMO so non-factors in the decision. Anything else I should be thinking of? What would best position me to achieve ST/LT goals?
