Struck out at MBB internship during MBA recruiting, ended up interning at a boutique and now there full-time. Is it possible to get to MBB, and if so how should I approach it?
Just graduated from an HSW MBA. Did consulting internship recruiting for MBB and got a mix of 1st and 2nd round interviews, but didn't manage to close the deal. Ended up interning at a boutique specialized in my pre-MBA industry (which is where I wanted to focus as a consultant regardless) with a good rep and good comp; I'm now working there full time (graduated in May). However, still trying to find my way to MBB for a variety of reasons. Anyone ever heard of this happening? Should I wait a few years for a "cool off" period after how my on campus recruiting went? Any other tips for where to go from here?
Alternatively, anyone have any recs for MBB job hunting coaches who might be good for a general "strategy" session (vs. more focused case or fit interview coaching, or resume review)? Thanks.
