Struggling to figure out what to do next

I've been in consulting for 10+ years. I've had a great time but I really want to switch to something more local.

My area of expertise, so far, has been around planning and forecasting (building models, designing applications to automate/enhance them. etc). I enjoy managing teams but you never really get to grow a team given the transient nature of consulting engagements and practices.

I've switched between boutique consultancies and the Big 4 and prefer the boutiques. That said, I feel like I'm at a point where I'm not going to grow in a consulting environment because the returns on being a more advanced specialist are fairly diminishing.

I'm considering a switch to industry but find that roles in my area of expertise require either a significant pay cut or have key requirements that I currently do not possess (require actual day to day financial operations experience vs implementation experience).

The end goal, for me, is to move to a place where I can eventually own a P&L. So, from what I can tell, my options are:

• Take the pay and title cut and get on a role where there is a P&L ownership track
• Get an eMBA (self funded) and make a drastic switch into a middle tier leadership role
• Stick it out in consulting and work towards a directorship

I'm sure there are a ton of things I'm missing but any advice here would be appreciated.
