Tax Consultant Looking to Lateral to Management/Strategic
Long story short, I've been a tax consultant (NYU/GULC Tax LLM + T14 JD) at an int tax office for one of the Big 4s for a 4 years and the more I work in the area, the more I want to move to the management/strategic consulting side of the business.
Do I need an MBA to basically push a reset button? If so, would a place like Georgetown or NYU be sufficient? M7 is definitely a reach for me.
At this point in time I am inclined to just directly apply to consulting firms and arrange interviews but I am trying to get an idea of the lay of the land. If I do this, what kind of salary should be expecting? In other words, will I get some credit for 4 years of deal structuring work as tax consultant?
Thank you.
