Thinking About Exit Opportunities in T2 Consulting

I was fortunate to get a T2 offer during FT recruitment this year, and I am starting to think which direction I want to go in the future. Before starting next year, I wanted to strategically consider which industries/capabilities I should seek work in so that I am well positioned for good exits. For context, I am still trying to figure out what I want to do in the future, but I would likely want to move to strategy/operations or non-tech product manager type roles in corporate F500 or growth startups.

My question is: should I even think about this right now prior to starting work and when I am just beginning at the firm (does thinking about exit opps right now matter)? If so, what type of work/industries should I voice my preferences for? Are there certain projects that I should try to avoid? Maybe I am overthinking too much at this stage, but just trying to get a sense of how I can best prepare for exits. Really appreciate any insights!

It's totally okay to not know what you want to exit to, most people don't. In light of that uncertainty, you're best off doing what you can to sample different project and industry types to try and get a better sense of what is most interesting to you. For many people the best time to exit is 0.5-2 years after the promotion to your firm's MBA level equivalent, so you've got time

If you can find them, growth strategy projects often make for some of the best resume bullets and training in ambiguous problem solving
