• Tinton Falls is home to a mystical mineral spring. Its healing properties were said to be valued highly by the area’s natives. In 1765, the property’s owner Lewis Morris Ashfield even capitalized on the spring’s value, by telling prospective clients that the spring will benefit the owner primarily because of those who visit for good health. • Because of the body of water’s renown, the Tinton Falls Mineral Spring Company was formed in 1867.
