Too early to recruit for exit opps?

Incoming MBB 1st year analyst (haven't actually started yet) and getting contacted by a headhunting firm. Seems like they're legit (CPI) but I'm unsure whether I should engage or not - by that I mean go to events or coffee chats facilitated by the headhunters. I haven't even started yet and want to dedicate all of my energy to hitting the ground running.

Is it a mistake to pass these opportunities up? FYI, they're mainly for investing roles and I don't feel qualified technically speaking.
