Curious if the typical consulting travel schedule is different if you're at a MBB in SF. All the AMAs and Day in the Lifes talk about flying out Monday am and coming back Thursday PM. Is this every week if you're based in SF? I'd assume with all the companies HQ in the area (especially tech) you don't travel out of SF as much. Is this correct or a bad assumption?

I was at McK and had a few friends in the SF office. For those who were flying to clients, they almost always left Monday am and back Thursday PM. If the client was further (NY) or if the team insisted on them being there earlier on Monday, they would sometimes fly a Sunday afternoon or red eye flight (thought that is generally discouraged as a regular arrangement). Most preferred to work in the office Monday am then fly to the client end of day Monday then spend Tues-Thurs on site.
