UK Consulting Firms willing to sponsor?

Hello all,

I am a non-EU international student who did NOT study in the UK. I was curious if, in the post-Brexit environment, the London offices of top Consulting Firms would sponsor someone like me? I have a very strong resume, but I don't know much about the immigration laws in the UK, so it would be great if some insiders or people who went through a similar situation could share their 2 cents.

Many thanks!

I know MBB and S& would, I am sure many more would also. However, can you prove a link to the UK?

Would you be joining as a graduate or do you have work experience (>2-3y)?

That's definitely a good point that I did not put too much thought into - my rationale was mainly the desire to work in a large economy. I would be joining as a graduate. I think S& doesn't sponsor, remember seeing something about that on their application portal. Looking at your previous posts, you seem like someone knowledgeable about the UK Consulting space, would you mind sharing some insights? The type of work done, what differentiates the London office from others etc. Would appreciate any inputs, many thanks

The work is varied as often international. As you can imagine FS are very strong in London.

In terms of differentiation not quite sure what you are looking for; is not like a ME office focussed on government projects as such for example.

Top tier and T2 consulting space in London is extremely competitive, arguably the most sought after office alongside NY and SF.

The selection process for non-MBA is heavily skewed (40%+, more for MBB last time I checked) towards Oxbridge with the rest coming from the likes of LSE, LBS, Imperial and the occasional other here and there.

I am not going to lie, without strong roots to the UK, such as education or previous work experience, you are gonna struggle to get a foot inside the door. A reference may help but is no guarantee

Regarding S&, that would strike me as unusual as I know personally many internationals that work in their Deals practice and PwC has a set number of sponsorship they can grant each year as per Home Office guidelines.
