UK universities' relative placement into consulting?
I'm a student from outside the EU currently applying to a few colleges in the UK for my undergrad degree, and I think I have a realistic shot at the following:
University College London
King's College London
University of Edinburgh
I also applied for one of Oxbridge, but I don't think I'll get in.
I applied for joint courses in management and a humanities subject at UCL and KCL. For Edinburgh, I applied for a STEM subject.
As an international student, how well do these universities place into firms like MBB, Kearney, OW, Deloitte Strategy, and Roland Berger? Is it too difficult for internationals to get positions at these firms' UK offices?
Which of these universities are worth it for consulting? Does it matter which subject I study (i.e. should I try to switch into a more quantitative course?)

Other than oxbridge, none of the others you mentioned are target. Cant think of anyone in my OW/S& intake that was not Oxbridge (c.50%), LSE, LBS or Imperial or Warwick
UCL is big as well. Maybe your shop is not focused on it. But UCL is a target for BCG/semi for McK and you see quite a few LEK/OC&C etc from UCL.
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind if I get in. I'm not completely consulting-or-bust, so I'll probably end up asking around about IB/S&T opportunities from these schools as well.
I went to 1 of the 3 you listed (as my name may suggest) and am now at an MBB in London.
With all 3 of these unis, you can definitely pass the CV screen GIVEN THAT you (1) are predicted/have achieved a first, (2) have exceptional leadership experience (president of big society/club, founder of non-bs startup), and (3) have excellent internship experience in your 1st and 2nd years.
Once you have passed the CV screen and are given a first round, then your uni barely matters and it's all about your case and fit interview performance.
The subject you choose isn't that important per se BUT you should pick a subject that sets you up for success in the 3 points I gave above. If you're more passionate about one subject and that would lead to you getting a first, go for that one. If a subject is so tough that you won't have enough free time for getting your leadership experience, then it might be worth reconsidering.
