Undergrad Consulting Recruiting With Mediocre Resume

Hi everybody,

I'm currently a sophomore Econ major at semi-target with a 3.9 GPA. I'm planning to apply for 2024 summer internships at MBB, T2, and Big4. I was unable to get an internship for my freshman summer and it looks like I won't be able to get an internship or research position my sophomore summer either. My resume includes some odd jobs as a gigging musician, research lab assistant, and summer camp counselor. I also have no leadership positions in student clubs but I am a member of a selective business club. How can I bolster my resume before the late June BCG and Bain deadlines? Should I just get a grocery store job back home? Given the time on my hands, I plan to case and network like hell. Thanks for your help guys!

You're fine. This is your first white collar position, but the fact that you've had other stable positions to begin with helps a lot. And you have a well marketable GPA and major. Just make sure your personability skills are up to par like interviewing or how to behave in a conference room with C-level executives. Case and network like hell like you said.
