Unpaid internship experience?

Hello everyone! I was browsing the web yesterday and came across a company where students can pay the firm (£1,450) for an internship experience (not going to name the firm here). It seems like you will get to work on real projects and talk to clients etc. The only drawbacks are the fact that they are 1) unpaid, 2) not well-known. Everything is done online and they say you can write on your CV that you are a "junior consultant" upon completion (8-week long).

What are your thoughts guys? Should I try this out as I have no experience in this field? Do you think it will actually boost my CV? I am just a bit worried my future interviewers might ask me about the salary and they will reject me straightaway.

But at least I can join and learn about the field without putting it on my CV?

I’m doing my PhD and want some experiences… Don’t want to be unemployed 3 years later.

Well, at least you can put down "paid internship" on your cv.

Jokes aside, don't do it. Can't think of any reputable firms that would make people pay to get an internship.
