What is innovation consulting?
My firm is building up their innovation consulting practice. Can't seem to really find any info. on what innovation consulting actually is. Anybody have some insight?

I knew someone who went there and he seemed quite happy there with the rigor and impact of the work.
Innovation consulting is when you have to do an analysis using two databases from the client talking about the same things but the numbers don't match. Therefore you start doing innovation consulting hahaha
Innovation consulting includes: finding strategic opportunities for growth (core & new), launching new business models, and building internal capabilities to support idea development. As mentioned by other posters, checkout Innosight, this is their specialty.
I am quite interested to pursue a career as an Innovation Consultant but don't know many companies that are good in this field. Can you guys suggest names of some firms like Innosight.
