Where to go from here...

I've always wanted to go into consulting but as a non-target recent grad working in academia, it's been difficult. Anyhow... Through an employee referral, I recently had a BCG interview which went sideways and so now I'm thinking of what I can do to have a chance at these consulting firms. Ive already submitted my application to a bunch of places but I'm not even sure if I will ever hear back from any. I know many firms have already begun interviews this season. Is there anything I can do post-application submission?
