Which car rental company you use when traveling to work

Hi

I will start my new job in Sep, the schedule will be fly M-Thur at client which required me to rent the car at the airport.
I am not sure if my company has prefer company to use, but in general,
Which rental car company do you guys use?
Which one has the best member reward?
Do you accumulate the rental point to car rental program or to your airline/ hotel program?

check your company rules - many have preferred providers. if your company doesn't your client may.

barring that, i've never had a problem with avis.

I've never had to use one for work, but for personal use I have always used budget and have gotten very nice cars. My last car I drove had 3 miles on the odometer.

If no specific car providers are required, I have been a member of Hertz for many years & they are good in my books. However, if u just need for a few hours only, then may be more economical to rent from Zipcar?

Most firms will limit you to Avis and Hertz. Most of my teammates used Hertz, but I was an Avis guy because: 1. Back in 2009-2010 they had this promotion where for every 2 day rental you got 5K delta miles. That was just ridiculous. Those promotions are long gone, but every now and then they'd throw in 1500 miles per rental promo which was decent. 2. Avis First/Hertz Gold should come standard with your company contract. But one of my teammates got this link to sign up for Avis President's Club. Had it for last couple of years, always got a very sweet car. I broke the rules and got a Full Size for only $2/day more than Intermediate, with 2 class upgrade, was limited to Premiums with 500 miles almost every week.

Avis is our preferred provider so we have to use them. Not too impressed... less than half the cars seem to have the ability to use bluetooth/aux input to play your music, which I do not understand since it's 2013.

I want to throw in National if your company allows. They: - Recently started to allow the selection of the actual car (and I mean model and not just size) in advance - Tend to have better upgrades than Hertz/Avis. Their is often some nice cars in the Executive aisle and the Executive membership level is fairly easy to get. You can probably negotiate yourself in with zero rental. I actually gained it through a limited time promotion National offered. - Points toward free rental is based on # of rental as opposite to spending (Hertz). This is more helpful as your company is probably getting a pretty low rate anyway (= less spending).

I assume that when you say hire you mean self drive cars. I have hired self drive cars from zoomcars and Carzonrent. I found the overall experience to be better with zoomcars. It is simple to hire a car and they have made good use of technology to make it as hassle free as possible.
