Which firms are hiring "Social Justice Warriors"?

Kinda joking with the title, but do any/all firms have divisions that help out educational institutions, non-profits, government, NGO's, religious orgs, etc.? Any noteworthy ones to investigate further? Thanks!

All the large companies I have seen from the inside had "corporate social responsibility" (CR/CSR) type departments. They are close to the PR departments or similar external comms. They organize events like community outreach, open days, non-profit festivities and more.

The most memorable event we attended was preparing and wrapping Christmas gifts for homeless and orphaned children. This was especially relevant because we were external consultants and the client offered to pay our billables for those days - if we decided to help even though we didn't produce anything for the client directly. Luckily I persuaded our management team to waive the fees for those days and we got to help as well.

Depending on your definition of "helping", McKinsey has a huge public sector practice and works with a lot of governments, more recently from developing countries. I put the "help" in quotes because they are not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, this is a large and very profitable piece of their book. There are many other firms that work a lot with the government as well. I think all of the big 4 have decently sized D.C. offices that focus on government work (Deloitte being the largest by a reasonable margin), Accenture/IBM do a fair amount, and the most well known public sector focused firm is probably Booz Allen. Plenty of smaller shops (Censeo comes to mind) have a strong public sector presence too. Many of these engagements are focused around education and other "social justicy" type work but many others look similar to most private sector work (IT stuff, HR reorg, etc.)

From a more "goodness of their heart" perspective, many firms do probono case work. I know that all of the big 3 have opportunities for individuals to work on probono work at times. These are full engagements with the same resources dedicated to them as regular cases but cost the clients nothing (less face value expenses at times.) Bain & Company is well known for this; they have a close partnership with their sister company Bridgespan Group which exclusively serves non profits and mission driven orgs.
