Which internship should I pick?

I am a second-year finance major looking to get a career in management consulting. I have 2 offers on the table for my internship for next summer. One is with coca cola as a supply chain intern and the other is with Siemens as a finance intern. Obviously Coke is the more impressive of the two, but siemens has a 2 year rotational post grad program called the Finance Leadership Development Program, so there's more job security there. Coke doesn't really offer return offers. Which would be more impressive on a resume and which would yo recommend I take?

If you’re trying to get into consulting, why do you care about getting a full-time job with Siemens in two years? You have two shots at consulting - the junior internship and full-time, so you should make the decision that maximizes those chances (i.e. Coca-Cola). Either is good for a sophomore internship, but I think your reasoning for weighing Siemens > Coke is not super relevant in this situation.

Agreed - job security schmob security... you'll be able to get a job out of undergrad with that kind of trajectory even if you don't end up in consulting. I think both are reasonably impressive for a sophomore internship but only reason I'd give Siemens a significant advantage is if you want to kick off your career in finance vs supply chain (again, in the case you don't end up in consulting). Otherwise it's relatively a wash and I'd get a sense for which will be more fun or interesting (my guess would be Coca Cola).

Congrats on 2 great offers as a sophomore!!

I wouldn't really consider FT employment with the company as a consideration. As a sophomore, you're probably going to want to do something else next summer anyway. Also FLDPs are boring and tons of other companies offer them.

I'd probably go with Coke, but also keep in mind that supply chain and internal finance are different things. What are you more interested in learning about this summer? From what you've learned during your interviews, which position do you think would provide you with better STAR-format type stories about what you did which you can use for resume bullets or interviews? (tip - search on LinkedIn for how former interns described their experience, as well as see what they're doing now)

I did a F500 finance internship after my sophomore year and felt that it credentialized me in a good way in terms of core financial analysis skills, but if I were in your shoes I would probably have taken Coke, which I guess is to say I think you can't really go wrong here.
