Who actually make the hiring decision in a consulting firm (MBB and boutiques)?
Hi everyone, I'm just curious about who is the person that make the final decision after all the interview rounds - be it MBB or boutique firms? Will partners actually read all the feedback and make the hire/pass decision? or is it HR? Or is it a team effort?
Thank you.
The actual interviewers do it after each round. So the associates/ engagement managers after first round, and partners/ APs after final. HR doesn't make the decision
dorapaddle Thank you. So after a last Partner call, the partner would make the final hire/pass decision? So If I excelled in my previous interviews but stumbled in my Partner call, I basically failed?
As @dorapaddle mentioned, it's discussed after the interview, usually right after. The associates/em reach a hire/no hire consensus. In my group, Partners have veto power but are usually just doing an airport test. Yes.
