1.5 Hr Corp Dev Case Study?

About to travel for a final round Corp dev interview with a PE backed PortCo company (Associate level). I have had 4 different 45 minute interviews to this point.

The interview schedule they shared starts with an 1hr lunch with junior team, 45 minute interview with VP, and ends with a 1.5hr slot titled “Day in the life/Case Study”

Any thoughts on what this might entail? 1.5hrs seems very tight for a full blown case study, especially for a corp dev interview. Appreciate any input.

My guess is it's more conversational - like they throw you a few different situations / tasks in a deal and talk through how you would approach them. Maybe some brain teaser type stuff about how you think about changing valuation / bidding given diligence findings, etc. It's a good way to get a sense of someone's technical skills without being a full blown technical / modeling interview.

Just to add something here for anyone else who's curious - while the this particular process seems like it would be conversational and qualitative, I've had Corp Dev case studies where they essentially throw you the PE Associate model test (if they know you come from a banking background) to make sure you're sound technically. The bar is probably slightly lower, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some aspect of high level modeling involved, especially if the PortCo is highly acquisitive.
