'Bandwith-as-a-service' - would you consider engaging such a service (Corp Dev team)?

I am thinking through a scenario and am keen to canvass community views on this:
You are readying a subsidiary/business unit for a process - either sale or raising funds. Your team intends to run the process itself (i.e. no intention to engage advisors). However, would you consider engaging a 'materials prep' firm, that simply puts together the IM, model, etc, so you don't have to? And if so, how valuable would that be considered to your team?

This is entirely what a Biz Dev team is for. If you don’t have a Biz Dev team, what are you doing running a process yourself? You really think a business unable to do their own materials is going to get the highest and best value for their company by doing it in-house?
