Boeing vs. GE

I'm a junior at a non-target with a summer internship offer from Boeing. However I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to keep recruiting for other f500 firms like GE that may be considered more prestigious.

What would you do in this situation?

If you have an offer in hand, why risk it? I doubt to the outside world having interned at GE versus having interned at Boeing is really going to be viewed all that differently to the outside world. The only benefit of interning at GE would be having a chance at getting a return offer. (Assuming GE is your target) That being said, I would assume big companies are basically done recruiting for this summer, except for maybe a few exceptions. Companies like GE and Boeing tend to have hiring complete before Christmas hits.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I have accepted the offer from Boeing and will see how it goes. I think you're right that this will set me up well for senior recruiting. I was a bit nervous because aerospace is not my intended industry, but I think at the intern level it might not make a big difference. Thanks again for your feedback.

I have a tender spot in my heart for cripples, bastards, and broken things
