Corporate Development and Strategy Internship

I am currently a senior in high school. This summer I am interning at a Fortune 500 as part of their Corp Development/Strategy and M&A team. I was curious on how I should prepare for the internship. I managed to secure it through connections/networking, but given my limited experience/knowledge I wanted to quickly feel prepared and learn a bit more about the team. What are some of the important concepts/aspects which make the position? Any advice would be helpful. ]

I say enjoy your time off and relax. My opinion is that the hardest part of a job is getting one! You will find out that in everything you do in the corporate world (at least at a junior level) you are able to figure it out one way or another.

I say the most important element to success in internships is effort and attitude. Put your hand up for everything they offer, ask questions, and communicate/show initiative. They know you are an intern so they won't ask you to do anything that requires a ton of expertise so it's more about showing you can get things done.

Congratulations on the internship (you are one step ahead of 99% of people). You should be proud of yourself but make sure you enjoy yourself as well.

Wishing you the best - good luck!
