Exit ops for banking roles other than IB/trading
If I was to enter into a non-IB/trading but well paying banking job, such as DB's GTB, Standard Chartered's Transaction Banking, or any commercial/retail banking role (both client facing and back office), what would be the exit opportunities?
I'm graduating next year and in terms of very long term career objectives, I'd like to get into making social impacts in a career in international development (think UN/World Bank/NGOs/etc).
However, I shouldn't take jobs for granted, and was wondering if there'd be any negative impacts in starting as a fresh grad in banking and then trying to get into international development. I have heard that unlike in consulting, the exit opps for bankers are very narrow.
IFC (International Financial Corporation) at the world bank , or the IMF should have a role for you.
