Final year student applying for penultimate year internship

Applied to a penultimate year summer internship as a final year student(planned to do a masters), what are the chances that I can get into a full time role immediately within the firm without having done my masters? I’ve heard that a lot of people have achieved this.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for students to secure a full-time role after a successful summer internship. However, it's important to note that this can depend on several factors, including the firm's policies, the performance during the internship, and the availability of full-time positions.

In your case, as you've applied for a penultimate year summer internship while being a final year student, it might be a bit tricky. Some banks require you to be a penultimate year student to be considered for a summer internship. If you're a final year student, you might not be considered. However, if you perform exceptionally well during the internship, the firm might consider offering you a full-time role, especially if you express your interest in this.

Remember, communication is key. Make sure to express your career goals and intentions to your supervisors and network within the firm. Show them your value and potential.

However, it's also important to have a backup plan. If the full-time role doesn't materialize immediately after the internship, having a master's degree to fall back on is a good option.

Remember, every journey is unique, and there's no one-size-fits-all answer. Keep your options open, work hard, and good luck!
