First of all congrats on your offer!

I don’t know specifically for GE, but statistically speaking in most of the F500 companies, you need to spend around 6-7 years as a manager/senior manager before you go for a director position. Now, if you already have some experience as a manager already, you can leverage that experience to get a promotion sooner than that.
