How do CF careers differ between countries?
Specifically comparing CF between UK/Canada/US/Australia. Is the hierarchy the same, are promotions as frequent, is compensation similar?
If one was interested in moving (to one of these countries) in their mid 20s, would it effect career growth (ceteris paribus)?
Thanks guys!

Are you talking about working for a US based global F500 and working for them abroad, or working for a foreign company all together?
Say working for a US based global F500 in the UK, such as Shell/Oceaneering/Disney/Microsoft/Google.
How would a UK CF career in the aforementioned firms differ to that in the US. What would happen if you were to move over to the US?
Can you specify what you mean by differ? Are you talking culture, pay, hours, etc?
Keep in mind that corpfin careers also vary by company/industry. You see a lot of differences between companies even within the US.
I realise CF careers vary by company/industry but I am interested in knowing much the country you work in will influence pay, culture, career progression; this is what was meant by 'differ'.
Appreciate your input! :)
Since I worked in f500s in both the US and UK, I feel I can answer this question.
Pay: UK pays about 2/3rds what the US pays for the same role. I would think Canada would be in the middle.
Career progression: About the same. Work experience is considered equivalent. Though if you're in a US firm you might play second fiddle to the main office.
Vacation: UK crushes the US in vacation. You get 25 days plus 8 public holidays in the UK. In the US you get 10 to 15 days plus 15 public. Also in the Uk it's way easier to visit the rest of Europe.
Work life: US are workaholics. In the UK I rarely did overtime. And they let you drink during lunch.
Amenities: US has a more 24 hour culture, especially in NYC. In london every thing closes around 8pm to 10pm. And things just run better in the US and customer service doesn't such suck.
Culture: UK wins hands down. But Londoners are dicks.
Women: all 3 countries are terrible, but the UK is right next door to central and eastern Europe.
Cheers
