How to prepare to get a FLDP internship

I'm very interested in breaking into a finance development program after I graduate and I understand that the best course of action would be getting an internship my junior year with the same firm. Does anyone have any advice on how to best prepare myself to get one of these internships? I'm also a bit unclear on the timeline on when F100 companies look for FLDP interns, and I would love to hear the experiences of people who have also gone through a FLDP internship.

I'm currently a sophomore at a non-target who will be interning in program finance for a F150 company this upcoming summer, so hopefully this experience will help with my junior summer recruiting. Any advice or tips to put myself in the best position will be very helpful.
