Hyper growth Strat Finance- does it ever get better?

Anyone have experience at a later stage hyper growth start up- does it get any better? Suppose to go public in less than 12 months, WL balance has been very unpredictable, have to be available pretty much always etc etc. We're doubling headcount so assume with extra help + becoming public it should smooth out and become less insane just curious if anyones gone through this cycle before and can opine.

Thx!

Unrelated question but can I ask what your bg was before this role (IB/PE?) and what sort of inbounds you are getting from your current seat? I'm considering moving into a similar role so trying figure out what doors it will keep open, in case I don't end up loving it!

I was in corp banking for a few yrs then did 2 yrs in Private Credit at a small shop.

Just joined so limited inbounds, but the way I look at it is operating experience doesn’t close doors to get back to buyside / client services, can provide a lot of valuable experience that investors like. And alternatively hyperscalers all will have bigger departments in due time and will need folks that have experience.

Thank you so much!

Fwiw, from the conversations I've had, the hyper-growth StratFin grind really varies based on culture. Some of the big European companies have people working hard - late nights and 6/7 days - but everyone just love it and are very happy, and i spoke with someone at one of the big labs doing StratFin in US, who says its more like a 9-5 as they just have a lot of people just responsible for their own thing. So I guess really tough to generalise in this segment.
