Is Corporate -> Financial Services Possible?
Has anyone here moved from corporate positions to roles in financial services (IB, investing, etc)? I have about a year of IB experience and a year of strategic finance experience at a corporate. The role ended up being much more accounting focused than I thought coming in and I am not enjoying both the work and the general corporate environment. I don't think I'd want to move again to another corporate even if its a different role (corp dev?) as I think my banking experience will become too far removed at that point but can I use that past experience to move back into more traditional finance roles? Not sure if going back to IB as an analyst is possible or if I should try for smaller investing roles.

Probably do some elementary DD next time on what the ‘corp strat’ role actually entails.
Imagine chit talking a guy for not doing "elementary DD" while thinking strategic finance is the same as Corp. Strat...
