Hey everyone. I was curious if anyone has any insight on how common the move is from the buy side, specifically LO, to corporate development or corporate finance roles. I know of a few anecdotal examples here and there of a senior analyst leaving to go run IR or corporate dev at a company they covered for many years but wasn’t sure if folks on this forum had more specific experience or insight. I always thought it would be interesting since we spend our days on the buy side trying to figure out the special sauce that makes a company great or drives the stock, but I always thought it would be interesting to go actually work at one of those corporates and see how the sausage really gets made.
