Possible to do Tech Corp Dev in NYC?
Hey everyone,
Just wondering if it is possible to do corp dev at a larger tech company (FAANG or similar) in NYC? I am currently a BB tech IB analyst in the Bay Area and have a specific interest / background in tech. I am an East Coast person and all my friends / family are in NY.
Curious about how hard it is to get into big tech in NYC and the recruiting process if possible. Understand that most tech companies that I am interested in are of course in SF / Bay, but would be great if someone can share what they heard or their experience in the industry.

not sure about the difficulty of getting these roles but its almost certainly possible considering that FB/G/etc have major NYC offices with a lot of corp/biz dev job openings
there's a lot of self selection for the type of person who wants to go into big tech corpdev roles, but i'd say it's probably close to as competitive as an exit to one of the larger PE / HF's. headcount tends to be pretty small, and standards are still very high.
Could you elaborate on what types of people big tech corp dev teams are looking for and if there is a process like PE / HF?
there's not really a formal recruiting season. ideal candidate has deal experience, can model well, is largely self sufficient and intellectually curious. several rounds of behavioral interviews, technicals, possibly a case study.
