Request to be reconsidered for a higher intern position at a big CPG?

I applied for both the Consumer/Market Analyst and Associate Brand Manager position at a big CPG firm(think Clorox, Unilever, PG.) While interviewing for the CMA position, I got an email that said I was being advanced to the next round for the ABM position. Before I could hear back from ABM, CMA offered me a position and the deadline was before I could hear back from ABM. I recently interned at a big ad agency(this experience happened after I applied to the CPG company) that shared many of the responsibilities of the ABM role. Would it be a bad idea to ask the CPG's North America Recruiter to reconsider me for the ABM role? If so, how should I go about with this? Do I just casually mention the notification I got about the ABM position while covertly update them about my new experiences?
