Based on the most helpful WSO content, technical interviews for FP&A roles can vary, but they often focus on your understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. They might also touch on your Excel skills and your ability to use financial modeling.
However, if the role also involves some corporate development duties, you might be asked questions similar to those in an Investment Banking (IB) technical interview. These could include questions about mergers and acquisitions, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, and other valuation methods.
Remember, it's always better to be over-prepared. So, brushing up on both FP&A and IB technical concepts would be a wise move. Good luck!
