Transition from product management to corporate development?

Hi all,

I am currently a senior product manager at a tech startup focused on AI in the pharma industry. Prior to my current role, my background was in Big4 management consulting. I am wondering what a path might look like from my current role to one in corporate development whether at a large company(pharma preferable but flexible) or hedge fund. I have seen roles at places like DE Shaw but generally am unsure of what the prospects look like for someone with my more technical and operational background. Our product would be considered as having product market fit and we anticipate a potential exit in the near future which I would assume would be valuable experience to bring to a CD role.

Are there paths from building and scaling to businesses to more corporate development roles? Anyone know of other funds or companies who may look for this type of skillset in their CD candidates? I likely would not attend business school unless sponsored.

Thanks
