Where to Next?

I'm a senior auditor at a large financial institution and I have serveral interviews lined up internally. My goal would ultimately be a strategic role within a bank or fintech firm. I'm thinking the best way to do this would be attend an MBA (competitive at t10-20).

Position 1 is a Senior Credit Risk Analyst. It is on a front office team, but I would not be underwriting or modeling. I would be building up the risk management program from the ground up. Also, it pays 30k more than my current job.

Position 2 is a Senior Financial Analyst, but is more financial reporting.

Honestly, I'm not thrilled about either.

Although the credit risk position proxies significantly more ownership, job responsibility, and exposure, I haven't seen a lot of people move from this position to an MBA. I guess I am scared that if I choose the credit risk position and I don't get into a good MBA program, I'm stuck in risk.

Assuming the rest of my profile is legit, -Do you think the additional responsibility of the Sr. CRA would be well received by adcoms -How transferable are the metrics and dashboard reporting to strategic jobs? -Any other thoughts or jniut would be appreciated
