Blackstone Credit/Bain Cap Credit/KKR Credit MD Comp

Hey all,

I’ve been an associate at one of these firms for almost two years. It’s been a good experience so far and I’m being paid well, but I have almost no idea what comp looks like at the MD level (whatever level is right above Director/Principal). I could definitely see myself staying here for a long time if things work out that way, but I haven’t heard anything about comp at the upper levels. Does anyone have any insight into concrete numbers/anecdotes? Obviously comp is not the single most important factor in a job, but I’m able to assess other factors on my own based on my experience, and I feel weird asking around for what comp is like at the upper levels. Thanks!

What is an ED? Executive Director? Sorry all firms have different titles, is this the step below MD?

Yes executive director, one step below. At my firm I think they clear roughly 700-800 as a new ED so pretty much a mil by the time they get the promo to MD
