Breaking into distressed

Hi all,
I am about a year removed from school working at a credit manager primarily investing in LL in the context of CLOs. I definitely have some interest in distressed. I wanted to know how feasible a transition is. Additionally, what preparation should be done for the interview process. Would also like to know how distressed comp scales relative to performing credit. Thanks so much.
