Commercial banking at a Bulge Bracket?
Hi everyone, I’m curious about how commercial banking at a bulge bracket is in terms of structure, pay, wlb, etc, I live in a HCOL city on the west coast.
Something I like about commercial banking is the great wlb, is this also true at a BB? I know that corporate banking at the BB leads to a rough 60-70 hour a week schedule (while other banks have a better wlb for corporate) and I was wondering if commercial banking specifically at a BB also has worse hours compared to smaller banks (or other large banks like US Bank) from what I’ve researched, commercial banking is typically just a 40 hour work week, is this true at a BB as well?
I want a career as a relationship manager, how would that look like at a BB compared to other large banks or even smaller banks? I’m working towards building my resume so I can get a CB internship and my top choice currently is US Bank, which of the big banks is best for commercial banking?
