Commercial Banking to Corporate Banking
I recently accepted a full time role in commercial banking at a top 4 BS bank (BofA/JPM/Wells/Citi). I was wondering how likely it would be to internally lateral into corporate banking after the analyst program is over. Or is it easier to move externally to a MM bank. City will be (CHI/LA/SF). Thanks
JPM MMBSI?

Move externally is the easiest as there’s no guarantees that you can even move to Corp banking after the 2/3 yr analyst program. Also, there’s a lot of politics involved with internal mobility as well.

Can I PM you?
Would you mind sharing what the starting comp looks like for an entry level credit analyst in mid market commercial (5-20M loan sizes) at a big 5 bank in a major city?
So you haven't even started the analyst program and you're already looking over the horizon? How do you even know you won't enjoy commercial banking?
You are right. I’m wondering if laterally was possible because corporate pays a lot more at the analyst and associate levels.
