credit research exit

im in a credit research team at a BB research division, looking at mostly public corporate bond and loans, some private bond/loans. im wondering what are some exit for credit research?

would the exit/ level of difficulty differ for IG and HY?

i aim for some big names PE/PC shop (cuz i need sponsorship) and would appreciate some tips in lateral.

thanks for any insight/info!

I can't say specifically and I just have my opinion...I'd say yes but the more junior the better. The work will be slightly different but the brand will be helpful. So long as one can still talk credit and do a good case study I don't see why not. While its out of the control of the person, they will likely be competing against more direct experience candidates so that could be an uphill battle but it is what it is. Its certainly a much easier pivot than to say private credit or god forbid private equity.
