Which B4 if you don’t mind me asking? There is a big disparity in the quality and reputation even within the big 4. Generally speaking, two of them are considered to be top tier, one a bit behind and one basically irrelevant. DM if you don’t want to speak publicly
For the global players, they will largely hire at the Associate stage ie. after you have completed 2-3 years of IBD. Some of them have hired at the Analyst stage as well, but this will be ~1 year after graduation and not immediately out of college. One thing to note is that PC funds in Asia/ANZ operate quite leanly and seats may only come every few years (hiring is only as-needed and not a revolving door like in the US). Global funds will typically comp entry-level Associates at 150k USD base + bonus of 75-100%.
Sorry this might be a tangent - I know that IB is the ideal path to the buyside, but does anyone have insight into whether Big4 accounting firms or Big4 Banks C&IB is better for eventually transitioning to the buyside?
No expert myself but know people/mates - buyside opps in Aus are few and far between and there’s a lot of bankers here, don’t see how either would ever be better unless you’re looking at places like smaller local funds or some credit funds that don’t attract bankers to apply in the first place

Thanks for your input - could you please give any insight as to the type of fund and strategy (MF, MM, DL/SSG, etc)? Thank you!

Confirmed - this is correct for ANZ.
Anyone have insight into how long run comp is vs banking and PE?

At a junior analyst / fresh associate level, banking is most common but still interview MBB consultant, B4 and B4 banks.
I’ve seen people from Metrics or B4 bank lev fin transition to PC
