Pay well is what I have heard. Not sure about culture. I think in the US you work for the DL funds or the Mezz funds vs. in Europe where you are more generalist.
I’ve heard HPS is known for running very lean, so have to assume the WLB will be worse than similar shops but with better comp and experience to make up for it. They have grown a lot in the past few years so they have a lot of capital to put to work, meaning you will be busy. I think culture is solid but haven’t really heard anything there, but seems like they promote fairly quickly and retain pretty well per LinkedIn, so cant be too terrible.
