Internal Credit Ratings Analyst career path and exit opps

Hi all,

Recently received an offer from a large insurance firm in London as an internal credit ratings analyst. The role would support in credit rating methodology in rating bonds, equity release mortgages, commercial mortgages, structured financed and infrastructure loans. Would like to get some thoughts on the following as this is a new field for me:

  1. What are the exit opps? Is it possible to break into asset management arms of insurance companies or pure play AMs? What are the other exit opps apart from this?

  2. I also have an 6 month off cycle investment banking offer from a French bank in one of the Asian hubs. However, there is no certainty I will get converted. Would taking the full time offer in London be the better option?

Cheers!
